A moment in the spotlight with Miss Kansas Jr. Teen, Madison Schoenekase!
Hello! I'm Madison Schoenekase and I was recently crowned Miss Kansas at the American Coed Pageant that was held in St. Louis, MO. Throughout this amazing weekend I was given the opportunity to meet some outstanding people and compete for what I had been working so very hard for, which by the end of the weekend I was fortunate enough to be blessed with the title of Miss Kansas Jr Teen American Coed 2011!
I believe that throughout the whole weekend, the most fun and memorable part of my experience was getting to know all of the amazing competitors. On the very first night of the pageant we had our first rehersal with Miss Breanna and we had such a blast! We got to not only meet each other and talk, but we also got to dance together and help each other through the rough patches! I became very close with many girls from all different age divisions, and I believe that some of the friendships I made I will carry with me throughout my life! I admire so many of theses girls for all they taught me in this short time, and allowing me to have had such an amazing and memorable pageant experience!
As I continue onto nationals, I am most excited about getting to meet the other queens from all different states and learning about their platforms and what they are wanting to gain by winning the national title. I am also very excited to be able to travel with my very own Kansas and Missouri sister queens and to be given the opportunity to further get to know them and share this wonderful experience with these amazing girls that I am forunate enought to call my American Coed sisters!
For next years contestants, or anyone interested in pageants, my biggest advice is to go into the weekend with an open mind and be yourself! You can train with a coach, a friend, a parent, or even a pet, but just understand that no matter how much help you get, the only thing the judges will see is what you bring to the table and who you truly are! With this being said remember to always be yourself, and let the real you shine on that stage! Always keep in mind that everyone is beautiful in their own way and confidence is the biggest thing that sets you apart when you are competing! I wish you all the best of luck!
Throughout my reign as Miss Kansas Junior Teen American Coed 2011, I will be supporting my own non profit organization called L.O.T.S. which stands for letters of thanks to soldiers. Since a very young age I have watched soldiers and veterans year after year through our school parades and I have looked up to them with so much admiration, and appreciation! With everything they do for us, this is one way to give back and for us to say thanks! If you would like to participate and send letters please contact me via facebook for further information!
Throughout this year, I plan to make tons of appearances through Kansas and to be able to spread my organization futher! I feel so blessed to have won this title and I look forward to an amazing year with my new pageant family! As I go through my year I hope to touch the lives of others and always be a great role model! Like Mother Theresa said, "Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier!" I strive to live by this motto in my everyday actions and to always be a positive example!
Thank you for reading a little about me, and God Bless! :)
